Skilled and Succeeding: Jayda’s Journey
When Jayda first connected with MatchWorks Southside, she wasn’t sure which direction her career would take. With a focus on building strong foundations, the team encouraged her to explore study options that matched her interests.
After some discussion, the team supported Jayda to enrol in an Introduction to Pharmacy certificate that aligned with her goals. From there, things started to take shape.
Throughout her journey, the Southside team provided more than just career advice. They offered practical support including transport, driving lessons and regular encouragement, helping Jayda gain confidence and independence along the way.
Jayda successfully completed her training and reached a major milestone on her 18th birthday, securing a role as a pharmacy assistant. Since then, she has continued to build her skills and grow in self-belief.
Her manager Hon shared,
“At Chemist Warehouse, we support our staff, the community and our patients whatever their needs may be. We strongly believe in inclusivity and our staff are from all walks of life. We are dedicated to fostering a culture of acceptance and support. Jayda is an integral member of the team and is hard working. We are happy to have her as part of our team.”
Jayda recently celebrated her first anniversary in the role, and her journey is a great example of what’s possible with the right support, training and determination.
