Skilling Queenslanders for Work training projects give jobseekers the skills, qualifications and experience they need to find and keep a job. This training is proudly funded by the Queensland Government through its Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative and is delivered at no cost to participants.

Through this initiative MatchWorks is delighted to deliver the following programs: Ready for Work, Youth Skills, Pharmacy Job Accelerator and U’Revival.

Ready for Work

Ready for Work assists disadvantaged Queenslanders to transition into the workforce through six to eight week-long short courses covering the practical skills they need to successfully seek work.

There is no charge to participants for this program delivered by experienced facilitators and is designed to build confidence and develop essential skills, including:

  • Health and wellbeing sessions
  • Resume and cover letter support
  • Job search and application assistance
  • Interview preparation and confidence building
  • Communication and workplace training
  • Connections with local employers
  • Ongoing support after the program

Eligibility

  • Aged 16 or over
  • Queensland resident
  • Unemployed or underemployed
  • Looking to gain confidence and skills to enter or re-enter the workforce

Youth Skills

Youth Skills offers nationally recognised training, mentoring and intensive support to 15-24 year-olds who are engaged with Youth Justice Services, Queensland Corrective Services or at risk of offending and engaged with the Queensland Police Service.

MatchWorks is excited to deliver Youth Skills programs at Mt Gravatt and Caboolture.

Our holistic program helps young people build confidence, strengthen community connections, and create clear pathways to employment. We offer flexible, tailored support designed to break down barriers, foster resilience, and empower participants to reach their goals.

At no cost to participants, this program includes:

  • Populi Boxing and Health and Wellbeing program
  • Made Concepts Basketball
  • Eric Bailey Motivational Speaker
  • Accredited Training Certificate II Workplace Skills delivered by ETC

Pharmacy Job Accelerator

MatchWorks is proud to be delivering the Pharmacy Job Accelerator in partnership with Rigel Health in Nundah as a Community Foundation Skills program.

Community Foundation Skills offers assistance to people who need to improve their reading, writing, maths, or computer skills to equip them with the knowledge and confidence necessary to take on further education, training or enhance employment opportunities.

This pre-employment program has been co-designed to help people prepare for careers in the pharmacy retail sector. Participants will gain the skills and confidence needed to step into diverse entry-level roles such as:

  • Warehousing
  • Back of house
  • Front of house
  • Retail pharmacy positions

Along the way, participants will:

  • Build employability and soft skills
  • Complete the Rigel Health Skillwise program
  • Achieve an Accredited Certificate II in Workplace Skills with ETC

U’Revival

MatchWorks is proud to deliver the U’Revival Connect Program at Strathpine & Caboolture as part of the Skill Up work initiative.

Skill Up offers tailored assistance to adult job seekers to upskill or reskill in entry level positions in high priority industries to maximise existing and future job opportunities.

Designed specifically for mature-aged participants, this program helps:

  • Build digital literacy skills
  • Strengthen social and community connections
  • Understand the changing workplace and increase economic and social inclusion

As part of U’Revival, participants will also:

  • Access health and wellbeing support
  • Complete an Accredited Certificate II in Workplace Skills
  • Receive mentoring and guidance towards employment pathways and opportunities
