Jett swims into success
Youth Inclusive Employment Australia participant Jett has always been passionate about sport. As an active footballer, he had gained employment at the local footy club, but during the off‑season the work was not sustainable.
With support from his mum and Post Placement Support Officer Cassie, Jett explored becoming a swimming instructor. Already equipped with the right clearances and First Aid certification, he completed his AUSTSWIM training and connected with our Southern Adelaide team.
With the support of Employment Engagement Partner Jordan, Jett was matched to a local swim centre, successfully interviewed, and secured a placement. From day one, he’s made an incredible impression — Jordan also attended Jett’s first shift to support him, praising his efforts:
“He is committed to achieving his goals, and I’m very proud of him.”
Now, Jett is thriving in a role he loves:
“I have been enjoying it and learning a lot. I really like seeing all the students smiling and learning when they are swimming. I think it’s a big thing to see them happy in the water.”
