Future U to showcase the full range of genU supports & services for young people
A brand-new youth-focused event, Future U is coming to Geelong this September, bringing together genU’s employment, training, disability, wellbeing, community participation and social connection programs and services in one engaging and interactive experience.
Hosted by genU, Future U has been designed to help young people explore what’s possible for their future while connecting with the programs, services and opportunities available across the organisation.
Taking place at genU’s Eastern Hub in East Geelong, the free event designed primarily for young people aged 15 to 24, is an inclusive, all-abilities event open to everyone, including families, carers, educators, support coordinators and community members.
As part of the event, the MatchWorks team will be available throughout the day to chat with attendees about employment pathways, career development, training opportunities and personalised employment support. Visitors will also have the opportunity to discover the broader range of services offered by genU.
“Future U is an opportunity for young people and their support networks to see the full picture of what’s available to them,” said Emily Markham, National Community Lead for MatchWorks.

Future U is more than a traditional information expo. Throughout the day, attendees can enjoy gaming activities, hands-on and interactive experiences and opportunities to connect directly with staff from across genU in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
The event aims to showcase the many ways genU supports people at every stage of their journey, helping them build skills, achieve their goals and connect with the supports they need to thrive.
