From Recovery to Success: Haley’s Journey
When Haley first connected with the MatchWorks Workforce Australia Rocklea team, she was in rehab, working towards a fresh start. The team provided ongoing support, including weekly check-ins, helping her explore career opportunities and plan for the future.
“During our conversations, we spoke about my career dreams and what roles were available,” Haley recalls. “Four months later, when I was ready, the team supported me.”
MatchWorks assisted Haley with essential preparations, including obtaining new identification, a Blue Card, and police clearances to ensure she was job ready. She also accessed counselling services, which she found beneficial.
“The team never stopped supporting me, from organising job interviews to keeping me motivated,” she said.
Beyond job placement, MatchWorks provided practical assistance to help Haley succeed.
“MatchWorks offered assistance with my PPE, helped me with transport, and went over and above to support me in not only starting work, but they continued to check in,” she shared.
With MatchWorks’ guidance, Haley secured a position at a local warehouse as an order picker in March 2024. Her responsibilities included picking orders, pallet management, and stock control. After three months in a casual role, she was offered a full-time, permanent position – a milestone she once thought was out of reach.
“I’ve never looked back,” Haley said. “Thanks to the amazing team at MatchWorks, I’ve found my dream job and stayed in a successful life path.”
