Cats Match helps Geelong job seekers kick employment goals
MatchWorks and the Geelong Cats have again partnered to deliver a groundbreaking employment, health and wellbeing program targeted at Geelong youth.
Sixty young job seekers have participated in the successful Cats Match program over the past three years.
MatchWorks Executive General Manager Renae Lowry said the program has achieved outstanding results with 80 per cent of participants finding their purpose in work or study.
“We are delighted to have partnered with the Geelong Cats to make a difference to young people’s lives in the Geelong region. Participants learned crucial skills to find meaningful employment, and were supported to overcome barriers so they can reach their full potential,” she said.
“This is our third year collaborating with the Geelong Cats to deliver the health and wellbeing part of the program and it was inspiring to hear participants feeling more confident and inspired to be their best selves.”
Geelong Cats General Manager Community Development Sarah Albon said the club is immensely proud of the collaboration.
“The club is proud of the fantastic collaboration between MatchWorks and the Geelong Cats. Cats Match is continuing to go from strength to strength in its third year, working to achieve real results and change the lives of participants.”
Business and social etiquette, increased self-awareness, makeovers, interview skills, recruitment techniques and much more are covered in the 10 week program.
