Overview

The relevant supervisor reviews all applications following the application close date to develop a short list of candidates. If successful in securing an interview, applicants should generally expect to hear from the supervisor within a few weeks after the application close date. Interviews, reference checking and any other skills tests are then conducted. All candidates will be informed of the outcome of their application at the end of the recruitment process.

Proof of qualifications

All offers of employment will be conditional on the successful applicant providing original or certified copies of the qualifications and licences relevant to the role. A photocopy of these qualifications will be made and kept on the employee’s personnel file.

Background checks

Applicants will be required to undergo pre-screening background checks such as a Police Check or Working with Children Check prior to starting their position.

Pre-employment Medical/Pre-existing illnesses

All new employees will be required to complete a pre-existing injury declaration form. Some applicants may be asked to undergo a medical assessment that will relate to skills required within the relevant position.

Probationary period

All new employees of genU will be required to complete a six-month qualifying (probationary) period in their relevant role.
