Queensland MatchWorks team connects employers and job seekers
Queensland employers and job seekers have enjoyed a valuable labour market information sharing and networking session at the first ‘Brekkie into Jobs’ breakfast yesterday.
Federal Member for Petrie Luke Howarth spoke at Mango Hill Coffee Club along with Smart Owners Director Daryl Akers while Olympic and Commonwealth Games medallist Julie McDonald was MC.
Julie McDonald hosts the Brekkie into Jobs breakfast.
Guests included representatives from the Department of Employment, community organisations, local employers and job seekers.
MatchWorks Queensland Regional Manager Paul Hethorn said the breakfast proved beneficial for everyone who attended.
“Brekkie into Jobs was an overwhelming success with inspirational guest speakers Julie McDonald, Luke Howarth and Daryl Akers,” Paul said.
“Our Federal Government Department of Employment team leader and contract manager, Linda and Daniel, attended along with 17 employers, 13 job seekers, 5 community organisations and 10 MatchWorks staff,” he said.
“Some job seekers had on-the-spot interviews whilst several employers and community organisations connected with each other for mutual benefit.
“Furthermore, the table and standing networking sessions will reap many more rewards in the days to come.”
Paul said the hard work of MatchWorks Queensland team members also helped the event’s success.
“A special thank you to Cindy Rawiri and our team members who were brilliant in ensuring this morning was not only engaging but a breath of fresh air for employers, job seekers and our community in general.”
