Job seeker gains new lease on life after connecting with Frankston community organisation
SAI Home and Community Care in Frankston developed a relationship with MatchWorks in 2013 and has employed one job seeker with a disability.
The company, owned by Upali and Nina Desilva, provides high quality 24/7 care that assists people to remain living independently in their own homes, recover and restore their health, improve their quality of life and engage with their local community.

MatchWorks DES job seeker Sotirios has a learning disability and was facing social isolation prior to employment as a cleaner in October 2016.
SAI Home and Community Care owner Nina said the relationship with MatchWorks has been beneficial due to the wage subsidies provided and the support from employment consultant Jo Thomas.
“Jo assisted Sotirios with the transitioning of his role with SAI as a cleaner. Jo was readily available to assist him whenever he needed further training and support,” Nina said.
“Sotirios is polite and shows great diligence to the task he must complete. He has never been late or had a sick day since commencing employment and thoroughly loves the environment and the people he works with. He is now much more confident, less anxious and very eager to please.”
