Collaboration with The Glen creates new futures post-rehabilitation
Congratulations to former job seekers, Boorbi and Dane who have both secured new jobs after completing the 12-week rehabilitation program at The Glen.
Boorbi was eager to start work as soon as possible after completing the program. Working closely with Lake Haven Employment Consultant, Nick Jones, the Indigenous job seeker showed a strong work ethic and commitment to his recovery. Within 10 days of working with Nick and the team, Boorbi was thrilled to land a new job at Wideline making windows and doors, and has a new lease on life.

The MatchWorks team helped Boorbi:
• Create a resume that highlighted his skills.
• Find a job opportunity.
• Paid for his car registration so he could drive to work.
• Funded work clothing, boots, and fuel to get him job-ready.
Dane came to Matchworks after hearing about other clients successfully finding ongoing employment with our support. The job seeker had experience in a wide range of industry roles and was keen to find a position where he could build on his existing skills while continuing to work on his recovery. MatchWorks funded Dane’s car registration and work clothing including boots. They also helped Dane create a stand-out resume and find a job just 5 minutes from home.
MatchWorks is proud to collaborate The Glen and support their clients to achieve their goals. We’re also thrilled to be starting our first Deadly Yakka pre-employment program in over twelve months on Monday 10 May.
This tailored two-week program has supported hundreds of Indigenous job seekers into new jobs and careers since it’s launch in 2014. We look forward to welcoming 31 new participants from the Central Coast region to the program next week.
