South Australian job seeker impresses employer with problem solving skills

Oaklands Park job seeker Anthony came to MatchWorks in September 2017 after being made redundant from his previous job in 2015.

The DES job seeker had spent time studying, had three young children and was ready to secure employment.

Anthony started working with MatchWorks team members Kylie and Ted who identified some potential up-skill opportunities and matched Anthony to a vacancy at Northern Power Tools.

Anthony impressed the owner Brian with his strong work ethic and impressive problem solving skills.

“On his first day, Anthony was repairing a drill and I saw him take photos of the item after taking it apart. When I saw this, I knew Anthony was a person who would take initiative,” Brian said.

“Since Anthony started with the business, returns are low and customers are really enjoying interacting with him.”

Anthony will celebrate a six-month milestone at Northern Power Tools this month.
