Ringwood restaurant hosts second disability awareness dinner

Ringwood restaurant The Cellar Door and MatchWorks collaborated to host a second Disability Awareness Promotion Dinner last night.

A group of eight MatchWorks Disability Employment Services (DES) clients participated in the evening, working in front-of-house, bar and kitchen roles to serve more than 50 guests.

Guests included a mix of community-based organisations, potential employers and MatchWorks team members. They enjoyed a three-course Mediterranean inspired feast and raffle prizes on the night.

MatchWorks Ringwood site manager Matt Petrucci said following the resounding success of the first dinner held in February, a second event was necessary to raise further awareness of the positive impact clients with a disability have in the workplace.

“The dinner has proved to be a fantastic opportunity for MatchWorks clients to showcase their skills to guests and potential employers,” he said.

“The clients have all done a fantastic job and should be very pleased with themselves. We look forward to working with The Cellar Door in the future to host more of these events.”
