Ventia Celebrated as Champion Employer of the Year
Ventia has been honoured with the Champion Employer of the Year Award at the National Employment Services Association’s (NESA) Awards for Excellence recognised for its outstanding commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for people who face significant barriers to work.
The award is especially meaningful because it was MatchWorks who nominated Ventia, recognising a partnership that began in 2018 and has truly flourished over the past year. Together, Ventia and MatchWorks have opened doors for individuals who are often excluded from the workforce helping people rebuild confidence, regain independence, and rediscover their sense of purpose through meaningful employment.
What makes Ventia stand out is its focus on people, not just positions. The company goes beyond recruitment, providing mentoring, regular check-ins, workplace adjustments, and inclusive communication strategies. For those who have experienced long-term unemployment, sensory considerations and on-the-job coaching have been life-changing helping them feel safe, valued, and supported at work.
“The partnership between MatchWorks and Ventia Vocational Centre has been highly positive and productive,” said Vicky Samaras, National Partnership Manager at MatchWorks.
“From the General Manager meeting with us on-site to aligning recruitment strategies across the state, to site visits that give jobseekers insight into the workplace, it’s been seamless, collaborative, and focused on shared goals.”
For participants, this partnership proves that employment is about so much more than income. It’s about belonging, identity, and the chance to thrive. And for Ventia, this award is a celebration of the lives changed through inclusive employment.

Sue Osman, Vicky Samaras & Casey Harwick from MatchWorks congratulate Daniel Osgood from Ventia.
