A Milestone Worth Celebrating – Daniel’s 12 Months in Employment
At MatchWorks, we believe work should be accessible to everyone. That’s why we provide tailored, holistic support to help people build confidence, develop skills, and connect with sustainable employment opportunities.
Recently, MatchWorks Melton participant Daniel celebrated an incredible milestone – 12 months in his role with Western Land Services.
From the beginning of Daniel’s journey, MatchWorks consultants Malcolm and Donna worked closely with him to understand his strengths, interests, and employment goals. Together, they created a tailored plan focused on building Daniel’s skills, including gaining the required tickets and qualifications to operate heavy machinery and safely handle chemicals. Along the way, the team also supported Daniel to overcome transport barriers and participate in job-readiness and confidence-building groups.
When Daniel was ready to take the next step, Malcolm and Donna organised a work trial with Western Land Services, a long-standing MatchWorks employer partner of more than four years. With the right support in place, including PPE and on-the-job preparation, Daniel successfully secured a role as a Parks and Gardens Maintenance Labourer.
Reflecting on his journey, Daniel shared how crucial MatchWorks’ support had been:
“Malcolm and Donna have been the unknowing support I needed to get my life back on track. After years of random challenges, exhaustion had set in. MatchWorks, particularly Donna, guided me through the personal storm. They have helped with licences, accreditations, tickets, and anything needed within reason to return to a vocational routine. That support restored the wholesome feeling of day‑to‑day life I didn’t realise I had lost. The support I received changed my future. Thank you so much to everyone at MatchWorks.”
