MatchWorks Werribee hosts Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea
MatchWorks Werribee has assisted the Cancer Council Australia to raise valuable funds for vital research, prevention and support service programs by hosting Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.
MatchWorks Werribee hosted a Mad Hatter themed morning tea to raise money for the Cancer Council.
More than 50 guests attended the Mad Hatter themed event today at the Werribee MatchWorks office dressed with their best colourful and quirky hats.
Guests included Wyndham City Council Deputy Mayor Kim McAliney, members of the Werribee Tigers Football Club, employers, job seekers, Government stakeholders and MatchWorks and Karingal Training staff. They enjoyed a spread of sweet and savoury morning tea and raised more than $400.
MatchWorks Werribee Acting DES Site Manager Samantha Reed said she is pleased with the amount they were able to fundraise from the event.
“It’s great to see the community come together to raise money for an important cause. 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85 and we hope these funds will assist in the Cancer Council’s vital research, prevention and support service programs,” she said.
“The Mad Hatter theme was a really fun way to get people involved and to raise money. All the guests had a fantastic time and we will look at hosting another event next year. I’d also like to acknowledge and thank our sponsors for donating items for our raffle.”
