The space also provides tenants and clients with opportunities to become more involved in Yarra Community Housing decision making.

National Australia Bank contributed $50,000 to the project, and MatchWorks representatives will host weekly information and training sessions about employment services.

MatchWorks Regional Manager Kate Campbell said the Hub was an exciting community initiative.

“MatchWorks is proud to contribute to this vibrant community space and we’re really confident the Hub will give people in the local area a space to come together and build strong community links,” she said.

Resident Frank Otis and Yarra Community Housing Chief Executive Michael Perusco spoke at Thursday’s launch which also featured a visual art display and live music.
