Important update for WA, QLD and NSW job seekers.

Employment service delivery and mutual obligations have changed in regions currently affected by COVID-19 lockdowns. The following information outlines how we can currently continue to support WA, QLD and NSW job seekers during this time. It also includes relevant information about mutual obligations.

MatchWorks employment services in WA

The Western Australian Government has announced a full lockdown for at least four days in the Perth and Peel regions. This commenced 12:01am on Tuesday 29 June and pending ongoing health advice, will remain in place until 12:01am Saturday 3 July.

Our sites are still able to service your employment needs and requirements remotely during this time. If you have an appointment scheduled during the lockdown period, we encourage you to contact your local site to either organise a phone appointment or reschedule. Our Health and Wellbeing team are also available for support if needed too.

MatchWorks employment services in QLD

Commencing today, Tuesday 29 June, the QLD government has announced a full lockdown for at least three days in:

  • Townsville
  • Palm Island
  • Brisbane
  • Ipswich
  • Logan City
  • Moreton Bay
  • Redlands
  • Sunshine Coast
  • Noosa
  • Somerset
  • Lockyer Valley
  • Scenic Rim
  • Gold Coast regions.

This lockdown will be in place until 12:01am Friday 2nd July, pending ongoing health advice.

Our sites are still able to service your employment needs and requirements remotely during this time. If you have an appointment scheduled during the lockdown period, we encourage you to contact your local site to either organise a phone appointment or reschedule. Our Health and Wellbeing team are also available for support if needed too.

MatchWorks employment services in NSW

Following the restrictions changes announced by the NSW government on Saturday 26 June, some of the ways you usually access our services have changed.

Access to our services

NSW job seekers can leave home to access Employment Services so our full-time sites remain open for any clients who request a face-to-face appointment or support. Please remember to wear a face-mask.

All other appointments, including Health and Wellbeing services and training sessions, will be delivered remotely over the phone or online.

If you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to contact your local site. Please be assured that all sites are adhering to COVID safe practices to keep you, and our team members, safe and well.

Mutual obligations

Mutual obligation requirements are currently on hold for job seekers in regions across Australia affected by COVID-19 lockdowns. This means job seekers and participants in these areas will not face payment suspensions or financial penalties for failing to meet their mutual obligation requirements that are due, or arranged to occur, during the suspension period.

NSW

Mutual obligation requirements are currently on hold for NSW job seekers in the regions of:
• Greater Sydney
• Blue Mountains
• Central Coast
• Wollongong.

The temporary suspension of mutual obligations will be in place from Sunday 27 June 2021 until Tuesday 13 July 2021 inclusive.

WA

Mutual obligation requirements are currently on hold for job seekers in the regions of:

  • Perth Metro Region
  • Peel Region

The temporary suspension of mutual obligations will be in place from Tuesday 29 June 2021 until Tuesday 6 July 2021 inclusive.

QLD

Mutual obligation requirements are currently on hold for QLD job seekers in the regions of:

  • Townsville

COVID-19 disaster payment

If you’re affected by COVID-19 and experiencing financial difficulty, the COVID-19 Disaster Payment will be available on 1 July 2021 for eligible people.
