GenU’s employment provider MatchWorks awarded licences to build workforces across Australia
MatchWorks, a leading provider of employment services across Australia, is pleased to announce today it has been awarded licences to deliver Workforce Australia by the Australian Government in six Employment Regions across four states.
Under the new employment model, MatchWorks will deliver Enhanced Services across Perth South, South-East Melbourne and Peninsula, Sydney South-West and Western Melbourne. MatchWorks will also expand its services in the Brisbane South-East region where it delivers Disability Employment Services. MatchWorks was further awarded the Employability Skills Training contract in the Somerset region, and was appointed to sub-panels across 20 regions nationally.
Workforce Australia will replace jobactive from 1 July 2022 and was informed by extensive research and collaboration with over 1400 job seekers, employers and providers including MatchWorks. Workforce Australia job seekers will receive assistance to find a job via the Department’s Digital Employment Services Platform, or through tailored servicing by employment services providers like MatchWorks. Employers will also be able to access online recruitment services or a tailored recruitment solution via their local employment provider.

GenU Executive General Manager, Recruitment, Employment and Training, Paul Barbaro said the new model will deliver employment support to those who need it most across Australia.
“MatchWorks was at the centre of the system redesign after delivering the New Employment Services Trial in the Adelaide South region and has seen the industry shift towards more targeted and tailored employment services,” Paul said.
“Under the new system, job seekers facing complex barriers to work will have greater access to programs, resources and services to equip them with the confidence and skills to secure sustainable employment. We’re also pivoting our employer services to help address the national skills shortage faced by Australian businesses. With the launch of our new Accelerator program next month, employers will gain access to a talent pool of industry job-ready candidates who will support the optimisation of business performance and sustainability.

Since the jobactive contract commenced in July 2015, MatchWorks has supported more than 163,000 Australian job seekers into sustainable employment. They have also partnered with more than 117,000 employers to build inclusive teams and support ongoing business sustainability and growth.
