Aydin joins supportive work environment
Melton job seeker Aydin transferred to MatchWorks in September 2017 from a different provider following difficulty in his search for employment.
Aydin, who has Asperger’s Syndrome, was well-presented and enthusiastic when he met with his employment consultant Carina Ferrer and business development consultant Stephen Graham.
“Aydin came to us with a Certificate III in Warehousing, so we knew he would work well in the field of labouring and as a tradie,” Carina said.
“We assisted Aydin to develop pre-employment plans to help him find suitable employment. From day one Stephen and I knew that he had the potential to work in his chosen field so whenever opportunities arose, he was always on the top list to be advocated for any suitable jobs.
“We assisted Aydin to secure employment as a painter assistant, but unfortunately it didn’t work out. However, Aydin did not lose hope of work and took the experience as a learning curve for the future. He kept in contact with MatchWorks on a regular basis to keep us informed of his job searching efforts.”
Aydin was successful in his search for work, securing employment and commencing on January 22 as a cleaner/labourer for Melton Smash Repairs.
“Aydin’s employers Chris and Tina are supportive of his barriers to employment and continue to praise him. This has allowed Aydin to excel in the role and he has gone from cleaning to be able to prepare vehicles with moderate supervision,” Carina said.
“He has become a valued member of the company and Chris and Tina wish to increase his hours and skill set in the future.”
