Adelaide Job Coach a finalist in 2021 NESA Awards

MatchWorks is proud to announce Emily Markham as a finalist for the 2021 NESA Employment Consultant of the Year.

Emily is an outstanding member of our New Employment Services Trial (NEST) team in Noarlunga, South Australia. The region has a high proportion of long-term and very long-term unemployed clients, and Emily has had great success engaging these individuals to become job-ready and employed in sustainable work.

Emily Markham is a finalist for the Employment Consultant of the Year at the 2021 NESA Awards in Canberra.

“Emily’s results are well above the Adelaide South Employment Region average placements and have contributed greatly to MatchWorks success in the region,” MatchWorks General Manager, Service Development and Projects, Sue Osman.

“She uses her own lived experience to empathise and connect with her clients and works to the belief that no client should be left behind and disadvantaged. A key element to her success is her ability to effectively engage clients by giving them a voice and opportunity to share their ideas and support needs. This feedback has influenced many new initiatives that may change the future of employment services.”

Emily makes a difference in her community

Emily joined MatchWorks in 2019 after a 15-year career in Retail and Hospitality.

“Working for a not-for-profit in a role supporting people was the opportunity I’d been searching for to do more for my community,” Emily said.

“Every day, I’m applying the coaching and leadership skills I gained from my former career to help my clients problem solve and achieve their goals. Many are able to afford necessities for the first time, and many more have overcome years of barriers to build a better future where they experience pride and find a sense of purpose in their lives.”

Emily is a wonderful ambassador for MatchWorks and strong advocate for her clients. We’re incredibly proud of her achievements and wish her the very best at this year’s National Employment Services Awards is at QT Canberra on Tuesday June 8.
