For parent Teiti Rowlands, the decision to return to the workforce after two years, was an empowering and easy one.
“I wanted to feel some sense of worth. I wanted to achieve and set goals and work towards a career,” said Teiti.
Teiti, who has been working for Avis Car Rentals for over 3 months, says she is very happy in her new job, now has a career and feels appreciated in her new role.
“I would never have thought that car rentals would be my career path but three months into it and I’m loving it!”
Teiti was helped along the job search path by MatchWorks Job Search Officer, Craig Benson.
“Craig was amazing. He helped me focus on my good qualities. His encouragement helped me overcome the knock backs. He saw the potential in me.”
Teiti says her advice to other parents who might have concerns about returning to work is to realise their worth and potential.
“Never lose the courage to try. I believe that instead of saying I can or I will, I say, I am.”
