New Business Success for MatchWorks

30 June 2006

On March 30th Dr Sharman Stone, Minister for Workforce participation announced the outcomes of the Australian Government's tenders for employment and related services.

The outcomes were wonderful news as MatchWorks was successful in expanding business and obtaining new Community Works contracts.

MatchWorks will open new Job Network branches in Airport West and Moonee Ponds from the 3rd of July and has been contracted to deliver Work for the Dole services from Geelong, Corio, Torquay, Werribee, Footscray, Bacchus Marsh, Sunshine and St Albans. Funding has also been awarded to MatchWorks to deliver additional Personal Support Programme services in Geelong.

The objective of Work for the Dole programme is to provide structured activities that enhance a participant's employment prospects, vocational skills and their ability to actively and effectively participate in the workforce. The program also develops a participant's ability to work as part of a team, take directions from a supervisor, work independently and communicate effectively.
Community Work allows job seekers to undertake voluntary work in an approved volunteer organisation.

As a part of the tendering process MatchWorks was one of five new providers Australia wide to be awarded a Work for the Dole and Community Work contract.

MatchWorks focus is to continue to provide quality services to assist individuals to find sustainable employment and these new Contracts provide MatchWorks with the new and extended tools to make that happen.
