Rotary Club of Highton has a busy month

09 December 2008

The Rotary Club of Highton strongly supports the Geelong community in any way it can.

November saw a number of committed club members cook up a storm at the Geelong-based branch of the Leukaemia Foundation’s ‘Leg It’ celebratory gentle walk event, 9 November, as well as at the 2008 Summer Workplace Big Day Out, Adventure Park, 18 November. Both these events involved significant contributions of volunteer time, coordination, effort and skills and were much appreciated and enjoyed by participants.

Aside from their cooking expertise, the Club also donated a unique prize that was auctioned at Karingal’s ‘Spooky’ Big Night Out, 21 November - the services of four of their members for 4 hours to carry out gardening clean-up work (mowing, tidying and weeding).
