An exciting opportunity exists for an energetic and dedicated human service professional to join the Transcend PhaMs team to
provide individualised goal oriented support to people who have a mental illness.
The Personal Helpers and Mentors Program (PHaMs) Support Co-ordinator will work to provide assistance and support to people who have a mental illness which has an impact on their daily life and includes, development and/or further enhancement of client’s living skills, engagement in community life, and access to income support, employment, education and training and health services. PHaMs is designed to respond holistically and flexibly to the cultural needs of the participants. It is based on the principles of respect, trust, empowerment, flexibility, choice and dignity.
In addition to an appropriate qualification (or working towards qualification), the successful applicant will have experience in the provision of support services to people with mental illness, knowledge of the local community and support mechanisms and linkages for people with a mental illness.
