Kick Start
Refugee goal setting and mentoring program
The Kick Start goal setting and mentoring program will help you:
- discover your talents
- develop employment pathways
- set SMART goals
- establish action plans to work towards achieving goals
- increase motivation and self-esteem

City at Work
Delivered in partnership with Melbourne City Football Club.
Job seekers from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and refugees can build their employability skills, confidence, health and wellbeing through the City at Work program. This free and inclusive program is delivered in partnership with Melbourne City Football Club.
Held over six-weeks, City at Work uses the ‘world game’ of soccer to promote social inclusion and integration across cultures.
In addition to a weekly football training session and attending a Melbourne City match at AAMI Stadium, job seekers participate in intensive job search training which covers:
- attitudes and behaviours
- cultural differences in the workplace
- barriers to employment and common concerns
- advice on pay slips, tax and superannuation
- increased self-awareness and transferable skills
- employer expectations and job retention
- interview techniques and a mock interview
- links with Language, Literacy and Numeracy programs

City Sisters
MatchWorks is proud to partner with Melbourne City Football Club to deliver the City Sisters employment program for young unemployed and underemployed women in the North East Melbourne region.
Health, Wellbeing and Employability
City Sisters is a no-cost, seven week employment program for women aged 17-24 years from all cultural backgrounds and abilities.
This program offers participants the opportunity to develop their employability skills and confidence while boosting their health and well-being.
Each week, participants work with Melbourne City Football Club development staff on soccer, fitness and lifestyles programs. MatchWorks delivers the employability training which covers:
• job search techniques
• interview preparation
• career guidance
• mentorship program with women in business.
• makeovers and presentation for work
• physical and mental health support.
