Alcoa staff are lining up to make a contribution to one of the region’s most important youth health and wellbeing organisations.
Volunteers will landscape the gardens of headspace’s newest site in Drysdale on September 23.
headspace provides mental health and wellbeing support, information and services to young people and their families across Australia and opened its latest premises in July this year.

Self-esteem boost for disadvantaged job seekers

Around 20 long–term unemployed young women will be treated to a make-over on Thursday to assist in building their self esteem and improve their chances of gaining employment.
The event was held for the second time last year with 16 of the 19 participants achieving positive outcomes – including many securing employment while others began studying in order to achieve their goals.

Young people being mentored by some of Geelong’s top chefs will go head to head this week during the finale of the annual ‘Y’ Chef Cooking Challenge.

Alcoa helps out Marshall

Alcoa employees have teamed up with Karingal Transcend, formally Mental Health Support, as part of their ongoing employee community volunteering program.
Alcoa Point Henry, with the assistance of BacLinks, has an established calendar of community involvement for 2011, giving employees the opportunity to volunteer during work hours for a range of interesting projects during the year.
The first for the year took place at Karingal Transcend’s property in Marshall on March 31.
