Job seekers graduate from Bendigo’s Deadly Yakka

Ten Indigenous job seekers were congratulated this week for graduating from the MatchWorks Deadly Yakka program in Bendigo. The participants graduated from the four-week employment program on December 7, which covered goal setting and personal development, life skills for work, interview skills, presentation advice, workplace expectations and job search skills; while also addressing personal barriers.

Job seekers help create new community garden

MatchWorks job seekers have helped create a community garden which exhibits traditional and contemporary bush food plants at the Melton Botanic Gardens. Job seekers worked alongside the Friends of the Melton Botanic Gardens (FMBG) over six months to create the Native Bush Foods Garden. They also revegetated the south bank of Ryans Creek with indigenous plants.
